Brian Earl A. Leshen

Mr. Leshen graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, and from the University of Santo Tomas with honors. He was a recipient of a full academic scholarship from the Sasakawa I (Nippon) YLF Foundation, awarded only to eligible students of the top quartile in the law school.
He was part of the Board of Editors of the Ateneo Law Journal, and its Executive Committee (Editor-in-Chief equivalent). He also served as the Lead Editor for the Special Issue of the Journal’s 66th Volume, entitled “The First Among Equals: A Tribute to Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, S.J.” which commemorates the Journal’s 70th Founding Anniversary and the Legacy of Fr. Joaquin Bernas, S.J. He was the Associate Lead Editor for the third Issue of the Journal’s 64th Volume. He was also the Chairperson of the Ateneo Law Journal's 2021 Charter Amendments, and was one of the drafters of the Ateneo Law Journal's Legal Citation Guide (4th ed.).
Mr. Leshen has co-authored a journal article with Ateneo Law School Dean Sedfrey M. Candelaria, published in the Ateneo Law Journal entitled "Tipping the Scales in Favor of the Accused: the Implications of People v. Sapla on the Philippines’ War Against Drugs", 65 Ateneo L.J. 831.
He was also a subject head under the Academics Committee of the 2020/2021 Ateneo Law Central Bar Operations.
During his free time, he likes visiting coffee shops, jazz bars, and exploring new places. He also likes playing board games and roleplaying video games. Despite the busy schedule, he strives to stay physically fit by doing a lot of physical activities and playing sports.
